Advanced Tactical Rifle – Designated Marksman Course
If you have successfully completed our Tactical Rifle Course or have completed a similar introductory course, and meet the following criteria: 1. Your rifle is in full working order (it reliably cycles, no loose parts, etc). 2. Your optics and or iron sights are zeroed. Then this is the next course for you. It has been designed to further expand on your capabilities with your rifle. This course will focus primarily on engaging targets far beyond zeroing distances (100 yards). Topics that will be covered during this course include a quick recap of skills learned during your Introduction to Tactical Rifle course, advanced techniques in engaging targets at distance, maintaining rifle data books, shooting from non traditional positions, multiple target engagement, and weapons maintenance.
Our course times are 9 am – 5 pm unless otherwise noted.
Things you will need:
Packed lunch and water
Tactical rifle with sights/optics
3 magazines
300 rounds of ammunition
Adjustable sling (We recommend the Ferro Concepts Slingster or similar)
Belt worn rifle magazine pouch.
Rifle cleaning kit
Baseball style cap
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
Long sleeved shirt or jacket (you will be shooting from the prone position and will inevitably want your elbows covered).
No low cut tops or open toed shoes (this is for your safety, as brass casings ejected during live fire exercises can land inside loose fitting tops or sandals and could create a safety issue).
